I'm getting kind of bored here.
I keep on taking long breaks from Dragon Age. Things come up and it keeps me away from the game for a few days and I lose the desire to play the game. I have to force myself to fire it up and everytime I do I get sucked into the game again. Right now, I have no desire to play the game.
I've been looking at various games on Steam such as Bioshock and Mass Effect and each time I seriously consider buying one. The fact that it'll take me 1-2 weeks to download it and the fact that I probably won't play it much keeps me from committing to the purchase.
I keep having quick urges to play Diablo II or a game like Empire Earth. I already have Diablo II installed - Empire Earth doesn't want to work on a 64-bit OS, like the one I'm running. That never goes beyond an urge to play.
It's just like always - I never finish single player games. I find them boring and predictive. I like the randomness that is thrown in with MMO or multiplayer games. I really miss playing Star Wars Galaxies. I wish SWTOR would come out sooner.
I just have to wait, I guess.
Perhaps I should just play Diablo II and work on collecting some badass item sets.
I hear Silent Hunter 5 is coming out this week...
Nevermind. I forgot SH was a Ubisoft thing. As far as I can tell it will have the same crap DRM that we were talking about before.
That upsets me. I <3 the Silent Hunter series.
I can't say much for BioShock (not a big fan), but Mass Effect certainly is the kind of game (at least to me) that you have to put your all in to without huge amounts of time between sessions. I guess any big story game is like that, it is hard to get back in the groove when you haven't played it for a while and it can seem overwhelming as to what is even still going on.
Actually the more I think about it, ME2 isn't that bad. There is only one real mission to get accomplished, and everything up to that mission is collecting crew members and getting them to like you. I just don't think that big breaks are conductive to enjoying the game as much as you might if you were able to play it every day until completion.
