I still haven't finished Dragon Age: Origins. I have a desire to play it but then again I don't. It's a game that I just want to finish and be over with.
I recently purchased Enemy Territory: Quake Wars solely so I could play Tribal Wars (See: http://vanurangers.net/content/tribal-wars-tribes-mod-etqw).
I've also reinstalled Unreal Tournament 2004 and I'm enjoying short ~30 minute sessions in that. I imagine if I had a few people to play with/against here that I'd play for longer. I'll have to ask a few of the guys.
I played Diablo II with a few of the guys last QRF cycle. We had a game with 5 people going in it. The trend, however, died out quickly due to schedule conflicts.
I started rebuilding http://killboxgaming.net to cater to the organization of LANParties and quasi-LANParties for soldiers stationed in various places where online gaming may be impossible due to internet connection properties. I haven't gotten far beyond the initial set up of the site though. I'm not sure how to advertise it.
Going back to Unreal Tournament 2004, I want to try and organize a tournament here for PC gamers. Probably using Unreal Tournament 2004. I've yet to really poll the players and see what they'd be interested in. I'd prefer an older game because it'll allow more people to participate - not many people here have bleeding edge gaming capable laptops. I can't go too old as I have found that a lot of the older classics have issues on Windows 7 and Vista including the original Unreal Tournament and Tribes 1.
I'm considering purchasing Fallout 3 - some people have told me that my love for The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion will translate directly into Fallout 3. I'm going to wait, however, for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars to finish downloading over our horridly slow internet connection.
I installed Oblivion last night and remembered how it likes to crash randomly after 30-120 minutes of playing. Oh well. I'll still play it.
Best bet for you, Anski, is to wipe everything clean 100% then start anew. I'm sure there is a way to fix it but like Ellen Ripley said in the movie Aliens "I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure."
Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is now 56% complete. It seems that Steam does not resume downloading completely. If I do make it to X percent it'll fall back to what seems like another save point.. kind of like how the payouts work in the TV show "Who Wants to Be A Millionaire?". It's driving me nuts.
92%
It says there are 16 minutes remaining but I highly doubt that is anywhere near accurate... mainly because it claimed 2.5 hours remaining when it was at 32%.
I should just burn stuff to CDs and send it to you, it sounds like it would get there faster. LOL
Finished downloading ETQW yesterday. The game alone is fun. I didn't install Tribal Wars until I was about to pass out. I'll play it in a little bit. Looking forward to trying it out.
I thought about it Anski, you'd have to send a ton of crap. Like 50 GB of shit for the 4 week shipment time to be worth it as I can download 50 GB in 4 weeks.
I'm having some hatred for DA:O right now. I loved it when I played it (but as I already mentioned it would suck to not be able to sit and play a game like that for long periods of time) but since then I had moved it (and my entire Steam stuff) to another drive, and now it claims that I don't have rights to the DLC that I ... have rights to. Apparently it is an issue with a process that should be running when the game is running that authenticates the stuff, and it is a known somewhat issue with Win7 64. That and I think the drive that Windows is on is already messed up because the OS is turning glitchy, even after re-installing it. Granted I only did an over-the-top install, I guess next up is to wipe clean and start all over, but who really wants to do that (I probably should have done that when I got 7 in the first place instead of upgrading Vista)
Wow, look at me ramble.
